Description

A blood pressure cuff is a medical device used to measure blood pressure by wrapping around a patient’s arm and inflating with air. The cuff temporarily restricts blood flow, and as it deflates, a healthcare professional (or an automated device) listens for the sounds of blood flow to determine the systolic and diastolic pressures.
